1. About the Service
1.1 What is GoStudy AI?
GoStudy AI is a mobile and web application that helps international students explore undergraduate and graduate study options at Korean universities. The service provides curated university and program information, AI-assisted recommendations, scholarship and tuition references, a consultation chat, and a pre-application feature for partner universities.
1.2 Who operates GoStudy AI?
The service is operated by the company identified in the Privacy Policy. For all privacy or legal inquiries, contact [email protected].
1.3 Is GoStudy AI an official university or government service?
No. GoStudy AI is an independent private service. We are not a Korean government agency, not a university, and not an accredited recruitment agent unless expressly stated. Information shown in the app is compiled from public sources, data provided by partner universities, and AI-generated summaries.
1.4 In which countries is the service available?
The service is currently available in English, Korean, Indonesian, Vietnamese, and Simplified Chinese. Availability in any specific country may change without notice.
2. Accounts & Sign-up
2.1 Do I need an account?
Yes. Most features (saving a profile, receiving recommendations, chatting with a consultant, pre-applying) require an account.
2.2 What is the minimum age?
You must be at least 14 years old to create an account.
2.3 What information do I provide at sign-up?
Sign-up requires an email address and a password (or a supported third-party login). Additional profile information is collected through onboarding steps so we can generate relevant recommendations.
2.4 Can I use a fake name or someone else's information?
No. You agree to provide accurate and truthful information. Submitting false information may result in rejection of your pre-application and account suspension.
2.5 How do I delete my account?
You may request deletion from inside the app (Profile → Account) or by emailing [email protected].
3. University Recommendations (AI)
3.1 How are recommendations generated?
Recommendations are produced by combining your profile, public and partner-supplied university data, and AI models (including Google Gemini) that analyze admission materials and match criteria.
3.2 Are the recommendations a guarantee of admission?
No. Recommendations are informational suggestions only. They do not constitute an offer of admission, a guarantee of acceptance, scholarship, visa issuance, or any specific outcome.
3.3 Why do my recommendations change?
Rankings, programs, language requirements, tuition, and scholarships are updated periodically. Our AI outputs may also vary slightly between runs. Always verify details on the university's official page.
3.4 Can AI make mistakes?
Yes. AI models can produce inaccurate, outdated, or incomplete information. You are responsible for verifying any important information with the university directly.
4. Pre-Application (사전 지원)
4.1 What is "pre-application"?
Pre-application is a preliminary expression of interest that allows partner universities to pre-screen your profile before the official admission window opens. It is not an official application.
4.2 Which universities currently accept pre-applications?
As of the date above, pre-application is available for:
- Sungshin Women's University (성신여자대학교)
- Dankook University (단국대학교)
- Kookmin University (국민대학교)
- Ajou University (아주대학교)
This list may change without notice.
4.3 What happens after I pre-apply?
Your profile and uploaded documents are shared with the relevant partner university. The university may contact you directly, request additional documents, invite you to the official application process, or decline further contact.
4.4 Does pre-application replace the official application?
No. You must still complete the university's official application process.
4.5 Is there a fee for pre-applying?
Pre-application through GoStudy AI is currently free. University application fees and tuition are charged by the university directly.
4.6 Can I withdraw a pre-application?
Yes. Contact [email protected] to request withdrawal. Information already provided to the university is controlled by the university under its own privacy policy.
5. Documents
5.1 What documents might I upload?
Common examples include:
- Passport or national ID
- Academic transcripts and diplomas
- Language test results (TOPIK, IELTS, TOEFL, etc.)
- Financial statements
- Personal statement or study plan
- Recommendation letters
5.2 What file formats and size limits apply?
Supported formats are PDF, JPG, PNG, and common document formats. Individual files should generally be under 20 MB.
5.3 Are my documents stored securely?
Yes. Documents are transmitted over TLS, stored encrypted at rest, access-controlled by Row-Level Security, and shared with a partner university only when you submit a pre-application to that specific university.
5.4 Can I delete documents I uploaded?
Yes. Go to Profile → Documents or contact [email protected]. Documents already transmitted to a partner university remain subject to that university's retention policy.
5.5 Am I responsible for the accuracy of my documents?
Yes. Submitting forged or tampered documents may be a criminal offense and will be reported to the relevant university and authorities.
6. Privacy & Data Security
6.1 Where can I read the full Privacy Policy?
See the Privacy Policy page or the link inside the app.
6.2 Who can see my data?
- You, through the app.
- Authorized Company staff, on a need-to-know basis.
- Partner universities, only for pre-applications you submit.
- Service providers under contract: Supabase, Google, Anthropic, Cloudflare.
- Regulators/law enforcement, where legally required.
We do not sell your personal information.
6.3 How long is my data kept?
Active account data is kept while the account is open. After deletion, most data is removed within 30 days, with limited records retained only where law requires.
6.4 What rights do I have?
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, withdraw consent, and data portability. Requests: [email protected].
7. Consultation Chat
7.1 Is the consultant a real person?
The chat combines AI-generated responses with human review where appropriate. For binding advice, contact the university directly.
7.2 Can I ask visa or legal questions?
You can ask, but our responses are informational only. We do not provide immigration or legal advice.
7.3 Are my chat messages private?
Messages are stored and protected under the same security controls as other personal data. Do not share passwords or payment card details in the chat.
8. Pricing
8.1 Is GoStudy AI free to use?
Core features — profile, recommendations, consultation chat, and pre-application — are currently free for end users.
8.2 Does GoStudy AI collect university application fees?
No. Application fees, enrollment deposits, and tuition are paid directly to the university. We never ask for tuition to be transferred to us.
9. Scholarships
9.1 Does the app guarantee a scholarship?
No. Scholarship availability, eligibility, and award amounts are decided solely by each university or funding body.
9.2 How are scholarships matched to me?
The AI uses your TOPIK level, academic record, nationality, and program preferences to highlight scholarships that typically match that profile. This is not an award notification.
10. Platform & Technical
10.1 Which platforms are supported?
The app runs on iOS, Android, and modern web browsers.
10.2 What if the app is down?
We aim for reasonable availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
11. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the service to submit false, forged, or stolen documents
- Impersonate another person
- Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the service
- Upload malware or illegal content
- Harass Company staff, consultants, or other users
12. Liability & Disclaimers
- GoStudy AI provides information and matching tools, not admission decisions, visas, or legal advice.
- Universities and governments make their own decisions; we are not responsible for those decisions.
- AI outputs may contain errors; verify critical information with the university.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, liability is limited as stated in the Terms of Service.
13. Troubleshooting
13.1 I can't log in.
Make sure you are using the same email you signed up with. Use "Forgot password" to reset. If the problem persists, contact [email protected].
13.2 I uploaded the wrong file.
Go to Profile → Documents to delete and re-upload. If it has already been shared with a partner university, contact [email protected].
13.3 I want to report a bug or security issue.
Email [email protected]. Include steps to reproduce, the affected platform, and your app version.
